In a moment of great inspiration, as a student in Italy, at age 20, Joan was consumed with the desire to create art that radiates a positive feeling. With this purpose driving every moment of her life, her passion to accomplish this calling set the stage for a life of focus. Her inspired ethereal drawings received instant national and international agencys representation, resulting in multiple product lines licensing her work, as well as book and magazine covers, and hundreds of private collections all over the world.

In tune with her intuition, she took an exhilarating turn to abstraction, the world of fantasy, passion, and exploration. Her art is a reflection of knowledge and confidence. Now she had found her voice, and was discovered instantly by Art Fusion Gallery in Miami.

She received a classical fine art education, receiving her BFA from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and her MFA from Lindenwood University, in St. Louis, Missouri, and University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.

St. Louis is her home again. With the same exuberant vision in her heart, she spent formative years in Brooksville and Tampa, Florida. This led to a life-changing spiritual connection in Sedona, Arizona, adding the mystical quality to her artwork. Her years in Sedona were followed by the high energy of Los Angeles, then returning home where she passionately fills her canvases with the fullness of life as she experiences it.
